Another flower edition, yeayy! And it’s not the end, yet~ xD
When my friend gave me a picture of flowers in Sangdong Lake Park and suggested that we should go there, I was curious what kind of flower it is. I think it was my first time seeing that kind of flower and it’s so pretty. I found out that it’s called 양귀비 in Korean, which is poppy in English. I was like.. what?? Isn’t it some kind of drug… How can they just freely grow there??? I searched about it and turned out poppy has so many species, not only the one that can be used as opium source. lol, sorry.
I visited the park this morning and finally see the poppy field~ The flowers are mostly red but I also saw the pink & white ones. Love it! But i feel like the bees were much more scarier than the one in Seoraseom Canola Festival. Haha. There were a lot of bees and they sounded quite loud. Fortunately, no one got hurt. 😀

Other than poppy fields, there’s also barley field with poppies in between. Somehow this combination create a misty feels.

I wonder which period they use as the reference because it’s not how Koreans date nowadays. LOL.
Poppies are usually in full bloom on late spring to early summer. So if you want to catch them on full bloom, go to Sangdong Lake Park ASAP! It’s in Bucheon, not that far from Seoul or Incheon. The closest station is Samsan Gymnasium Station (Seoul Subway Line 7). Go to exit 1, cross the street and walk 3-4 minutes.
