Connecting iPad to Internet Using Wireless Ad Hoc Network

Here are the steps:

1. Open Network and Sharing Center. Click Manage wireless networks

3. Adapter properties >> IPv4 Properties. Make sure that your IPv4 properties set to Obtain an IP address automatically

4. Click Add. Choose Create an ad hoc network. Click Next

5. Set your Network Name and Password, choose WEP as security type, check Save this network


6. Turn on Internet connection sharing

7. Connect your iPad to the network

8. Try connecting to internet. If it doesn’t work, set DNS to 80.58.0.97

  1. Um, there’s no need to do this if you have Windows 7…
    you can download a free Windows 7 only piece of software called connectify from connectify.me
    this software puts a GUI to built in Windows 7 functionality. I use this all the time to turn a Windows 7 laptop or desktop into a wifi hotspot.
